Using the Integrity Business Directory to find Christian Business owners is really easy. Let's say you are looking for a Christian plumber in your area. How would you find someone reliable to work with? Below we give you an explanation of the search fields, and some tips for better searching.
1 Select Category - On the Search Form, select the Category Plumbers. You don't have to search by a specific category. But, if you are trying to find someone in a specific profession, that can be a great way to narrow down your results.
2 Church Affiliation - You would probably prefer to use a Christian plumber who is a faithful member of your local church. So in the Church Affiliation field you would look for your local church. If it is there, great! If not, feel free to select another local church, or just leave it blank to not use church as part of your criteria.
3 Within Number of Miles - Optionally select the number of miles around your home Zip Code within which to search for a business. This may or may not matter to you. The default is 10, but goes all the way up to 500 miles. If you are not planning to enter a Zip Code in the next field, then this field doesn't affect your search at all.
4 From Zip Code - Optionally enter a Zip Code to find businesses that are within the previously set number of miles from a specific Zip Code. If you don't know the Zip Code, you can enter the first few letters of the City Name and the field will show you a list of possible Zip Codes to use in searching. If distance isn't an issue for you, then don't enter anything here. With a plumber, you probably want someone fairly close. But if you are looking to buy Christian ball merchandise online, or get a Website built, then location might not matter.
1 Try a Key Word Search - You are looking for a plumber, but would a handy man that does plumbing also work? Some member businesses only select one or two categories, but really do many more things which they write about in their entries. Try looking for one or more key words that relate to your needs, and see what you can get. You can also use your State abbreviation (FL, NY, etc.) as a keyword if you want to show everyone in your state.
2 Try a Different Category - Some businesses have overlapping businesses, and may not be listed in all the categories you would expect. So try a similar Category. This is like the advice above, but instead of doing a Keyword search, look at other categories that might cover what you need.
3 Don't Search for a Specific Church - There might not be a Christian plumber (for example) from your local church. But there might be quite a few in the surrounding area that are faithful to other churches.
4 Widen Your Search Radius - If you are looking for businesses near a specific Zip Code, then widen your search. If you tried 10 miles, then try 15 or 20.
5 Try Fewer Parameters - If you search for Category, Church, and Distance from a Zip Code, try a different search with few search criteria.
